Summary:Wheaton Regional Park, the first regional park in the Park system, offers both natural surface and hard surface trails. A 4-mile network of hard-surface trails traverse the southern portion of the park. The natural-surface trail network includes bridle trails and nature trails oriented to Brookside Nature Center and the horse Stables on Glenallen Ave. Parking lots available at all entrances. Hard surface trails between Carousel and dog park have rolling inclines. The hard surface trail east of the dog park has fairly steep inclines.
Activities:Horseback riding and hiking only on some trails.
Location:2000 Shorefield Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20902
Length/Surface:A hiker/equestrian trail loop is about 1.5 miles in length. You can connect to the Rachel Carson Greenway and Northwest Branch trails. The trail below is about 7.76 miles in length.
