Overview

In Short:4.5 mi. out and back.
Summary:Western Piedmont Trail is a 4.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Clarksburg, Maryland that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This trail is the main artery through Little Bennett Regional Park. It's an old road that's been busted up and converted to gravel. You will still see the old pavement in some places. It crosses a pretty stream (over a bridge) and connects many other trails in this park. Little Bennett Park was established in 1962, on property that the county purchased. It was originally farmland, and included several small communities. Although the forest has grown up significantly since then, along some portions of the trail, you will still see remnants of this past in the form of old fences and rusted antique farm equipment.
Activities:horseback riding, hiking, biking.
Location:25200 Clarksburg Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871
Length/Surface:4.5 mi. out and back. The trail below is about 4.2 miles in length.
